Fuel @ Catapult boasts a wide variety of casual experiences, featuring Kaldi’s coffee freshly brewed, as well as savory menu options made by Southeast’s Hospitality Management students. With options ranging from espresso shots, to cappuccinos, to banana nut bread, to gooey butter cake, the options for a tasteful experience are limitless. This combination makes for the perfect lounge area to discuss business, read the newspaper, or simply marvel at the features at Catapult Creative House.
THE SHOPPE @ CATAPULT
The Shoppe at Catapult features products designed by Southeast’s students. With entrepreneurial goals and innovative ideas in mind, Southeast students bring this space to life with their own creations, ranging from paintings to fashionable merchandise. This is the perfect place to get that one-of-a-kind product designed with quality in mind.
The Catapult Gallery is a cross-disciplinary, cross-departmental collaborative space linking the creative spirit of art with a wide range of diverse endeavors. Located in Catapult Creative House, a one of a kind creative arts and industries incubator, the Gallery is a — square foot space with moveable walls located under a two-story skylight. The Catapult Gallery offers diverse exhibitions, lectures, gallery talks, and other activities to the Cape Girardeau and University communities. Catapult Creative House is handicapped accessible. All exhibitions, lectures, and events are free and open to the public.
The Letterpress area at Catapult features several letterpresses, in which students and community members can actually take workshops to become certified within this area. It gives people the opportunity to bring older equipment back into use with modern designs, all in a very unique, hands-on way.
The Art Studios located within Catapult Creative House provide students with a unique creative arts incubator environment to work on individual projects and entrepreneurial endeavors. Through a competitive application process, students are selected based on quality of work and proposed contribution to Catapult Creative House. Art Studio Spaces are roughly 8’x8’ with stainless steel worktables, locker storage, with student access to computers fully equipped with the Adobe Suite. Studio participants are encouraged to actively promote their work and individual disciplines through the Catapult Retail Space and various Catapult events.
The Multimedia Lab at Catapult Creative House provides students with access to the equipment and space needed to explore a myriad of media based projects. The lab houses equipment ranging from a vinyl plotter and inkjet printers, to a tabletop photography studio. With access to the Multimedia Lab, students across campus will be able to collaborate with students in the Multimedia program to create: product photography and artwork; designing fliers, labels, and signage; social media and newsletter graphics; and t-shirt design.
Students in the CIDA accredited and NKBA affiliated interior design program are running an interior design business. Students working for Catapult Interiors provides commercial and residential interior design services to clients in the Cape Girardeau community.
Our four new computing stations are open! Focusing on Computer Science student entrepreneurs, these new stations include all the necessary software and programming access for students to work on their own entrepreneurial projects. The new stations are located on the first floor of Catapult Creative House in room 102.
Catapult offers a meeting space for students and community members for whatever interest they deem fit. Whether it is to conduct a business meeting or formulate ideas for an entrepreneurial idea, this space provides a state-of-the- art area to aid this process. With dry erase windows and video conferencing technology, the space easily accommodates meetings and retreats!
